Music Lessons with Jamie Lupien

Jamie was born and raised in Grant County and a 1983 graduate of GUHS, John Day, Oregon. Her earliest musical experience happened one day when she came home from Sunday School and was playing, by ear, the songs from church that morning. She was just short of 5 years old. She began private, one-on-one instruction in 1972. She studied with Al Olsen, Laura Batchelder, and Janice Cork, all local music teachers.

Throughout the years, overlapping employment with raising a family, Jamie continued to teach piano and vocal lessons. By 1999, Jamie had become involved with her church’s musical needs, and began leading worship by playing the piano/keyboard and singing. She stays active in church service, leading worship and directing church choir, and helping with Christmas and Easter productions. She has spent countless hours advancing her music education, attending more than 15 years of church-supported workshops and clinics.
