"Heidi learned how to hook rugs from her mother and has been making hand-made rugs since 2004. She holds a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from the University of Idaho. She is also a registered nurse and works in the Portland, Oregon area as a certificed diabetes care and education RN.

She has studied rug hooking through the McGown Rug Hooking Teacher Certification Program where she has studied rug hooking techniques, color theory, color planning and hand-dyeing processes. Her hooked rugs and mats have been accepted into juried art rug shows, including Rug Hooking Magazine’s annual Celebrations Winners show in Sauder Villiage, Ohio in 2018 and 2019. Two of her rugs have been published in the magazine’s annual Celebrations issue. Her work has also been shown in WoolWorks magazine.

She enjoys all types of rug hooking, from primitives to fine shaded florals to landscapes. She strives to inject fun into her rug hooking classes.”
