Painted Sky Gallery Group
Artist Level: Emerging, Mid-Career, and Established Artists
Type: We are seeking a wide variety of visual artists in various mediums with diverse styles. (jewelry, leather, fiber, 2D, 3D, ceramics, wearables, photography, etc.)
Residency: Must be a Grant County resident.
Details: We are creating a group of artists with a body of work ready to present for sale at pop up galleries and other opportunities in Grant County. Artists will go through a juried process of selection to ensure the quality of the work. Once you are juried in to the group, you will be able to choose which shows you participate in. We understand that everyone's schedules, inventory levels and other factors are unique. Once a show is scheduled, you can decide if it is right for you and opt-in or opt-out.
Where: We currently have locations in Grant County and tentative pop-up gallery dates for 2022. Once you apply, and are accepted to the Gallery Group, you will not have to re-apply for each pop-up show. You will have the choice of shows, you can opt-in or opt-out depending on your schedule, inventory, or other considerations. Eventually we intend to have a retail location of our own.
Fee: Free to join. There may be fees associated with pop-up galleries (rental space, etc.) and commissions to retail locations, however each event and retail location will be your choice to join or not. Fees for each event will be clearly communicated so you can choose if the event is right for you.
Jury: Painted Sky has a completely anonymous and autonomous (not associated with Painted Sky in other ways) jury of volunteers to select the artists for the Gallery Group.
Eligibility: Those that are not selected are eligible to re-apply after 1 year.
Encouragement: If you are not selected for the gallery group, do not be discouraged. Many great artists were not selected for galleries and shows early on. Artist that are selected for the Gallery Group likely have thousands of hours practicing their craft. We encourage you to keep creating, practicing, and don't give up! Make time for creative time and you will get better and better! The more you make, the better your chance for success.
Selection Process: Artists will be selected based on the quality of the items they are producing. It is also encouraged that you have a web presence and an inventory of work ready to market.
