Face coverings are required for indoor public spaces in every county effective July 1st. Children under 12 years of age, as well as people with a disability or a medical condition that prevent them from wearing a face covering, are not required to wear one. We can not allow cancellations because we have to order supplies for you. If we are mandated to close again we will reschedule the class as soon as possible.

Geared toward beginner adults, this class will teach you the basics of knitting. Focus of this class will be on knit and purl stitches, how to cast on, bind off, sew in ends and read basic knit and purl patterns. You will learn all of this by making two dishcloths. After this class you will be ready for my knitting 101 class. With these skills, the sky's the limit!

Price of $65 includes 3 sessions plus all the supplies you need!

This class is non-refundable. We have an extensive list of supplies that need to be ordered prior to the class therefore this class registration cannot  be canceled.

About Jessica:

How fun for me, I get to share my passion of knitting with you.
I was born and raised right here in Mt. Vernon. I married my High School sweetheart and together we have 2 children. I own Backwoods Soap Company and am a stay at home Mom. I love my jobs.

I learned to knit in the remote fishing town of Cordova Alaska in 2017. We lived there one summer, while my husband was busy working, I decided to take a Knit & Purl class. The very next thing I did was a sweater class. It's safe to say I was completely hooked. Knitting in Cordova is very popular, classes and get-togethers were common, I loved them all. I became friends with amazing, uplifting woman.

Since coming home that fall my obsession with knitting continued but I have missed my knitting community. By offering a variety of classes and get-togethers I look forward to building with you what I found in Cordova. Basically, I want people as hooked on knitting as I am. I want this to be an uplifting group for woman of all ages.

Please like my Facebook page, Backwoods Knits to see upcoming classes and events.
